~'Tis a Good Mail Day!~
I received my copy of 'A PRIMITIVE PLACE' today in the mail - but I am WAITING to break the cellophane and read it! Very soon, our family is taking a plane trip to Illinois and driving thru Indiana and into Ohio - this is my airplane reading material. I may cause Security to confiscate the magazine though - they may see that on the x-ray machine and decide it is such a GREAT magazine it could cause a 'mob' to form!!!!!!!!
Does anyone have any 'highly recommended' places to visit in Indiana or Ohio? Primitive Shops? Quilt Shops? Antique Shops? Being from Idaho, there is a serious shortage of these out here..... I am so anticipating my travels and time with family in the Midwest.
And we have managed to get some new family photos since our son has return from his LDS Mission - still picking out our favorites for Christmas Cards (it really is not that far away), but we had so much fun.....
It is definitely Fall outside in the Pacific Northwest - one of the most beautiful I have seen here in Idaho in a long time. Windy and in the low 50's today - chili and cornbread tonight. Then I have some quiet time by myself this evening - time to sit by the fire and READ!
Blessings on your Fall Evenings!

If you drive through Indiana on HWY 40, there are MANY wonderful antique shops in Cambridge City and Centerville. You can also stop at Warm Glow Candle Outlet on US 70, a few miles off HWY 40. If you've got time, give me a holler, we can have coffee.
Enjoy the magazine! Love all the pictures but the third one is my favorite. You have a beautiful family. I hope you have safe and happy travels.
You won't have any trouble finding places to shop in Ohio. They are everywhere. I highly recommend the Amish are north of Columbus in Berlin. Have a great trip. I live in Illinois so honk when you drive by!
I meant to say Amish "area".
Thanks for the kind words about the magazine!!
Google "The Country Register" and find the publishers for Ohio and Indiana and see if you can see the current issue online or if you can get a copy of the current issues...that is where many prim shops advertise.
Primitive Keepings is one name that comes to mind!
Love the family pics! So glad your son is home!! Have a wonderful trip!!
Hugs!!
Thank-you for posting about the magazine! We hope you enjoy every bit of it!~Blessings
Check out the Amish area in northern Ohio. Waynesville, Ohio is the antiques capital of the Midwest. It's one of my favorite places to go.

I'm from Nw Ohio and there are plenty of shops if you let me know what area you will be driving through I would be more than willing to help you out. There are also some great stops in NE Indiana. Like everyone else mentioned the Amish area of HOlmes County Ohio, there is also an Amish Area in NE Indiana around Ft Wayne.
I love good mail days too Shanda!...have fun on your trip to the midwest...I've never been so I can't offer any shopping suggestions but have fun!

One of my favorite places to go in Ohio is North Shore Primitives, in Washington Court House, Ohio. Its wonderful!
Hi Shanda,
Not sure where you are going in Ohio but Delaware, Ohio has the Seraph (to die for shop) that you absolutely must visit and there is a small Prim shop in Delaware called Home Haven. 740-362-7565. Delaware also has 2 HUGE antique malls right on Sandy=usky street that are MUSTS! I always frind great prims in them. Also must visit is Berlin - Amish Country - about 1.5 hours NE of Delaware.
Hope that helps! If you have any questions stop by my blog and I will help if I can!

If you're on the toll road in Northern Indiana, Barn Stable Antiques near Angola is amazing - all the best early antiques. Midland Art & Antiques in Indianapolis is good for a variety of tastes. The Seraph in Delaware, Ohio is also great (just north of Columbus. Also, Miller House Antiques and Curry's Antiques just south of Columbus, Ohio are super, too. Waynesville near Cincinnati is wonderful, as well. Early American Home in Findlay is nice and if you get near Cleveland, Primitive Keepings is definately worth a drive. If you're near Fort Wayne on Thanksgiving weekend, our primitive holiday open house is Friday evening and all day Saturday. We were featured in Country Sampler. Have a great trip!
